Mike Zaronias is involved in many aspects of intellectual property with an emphasis in patent, trademark and licensing practice areas. His patent practice includes preparation and prosecution of both foreign and domestic patent applications, performing due diligence evaluations for acquisition and licensing, and opinion writing regarding infringement, patentability, and patent validity. He has prepared and prosecuted utility and design patents in the automotive, mechanical, medical device, chemical, pharmaceutical and food science arts. In addition, he has advised clients on avoiding patent infringement and successfully designing around competitor's patents. He also has been involved in several patent infringement trials.

Mr. Zaronias also has experience obtaining trademark protection in domestic and foreign jurisdictions, defending against charges of trademark infringement and advising clients with trademark clearance. He has also handled trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings.

In his previous role as in house counsel, Mr. Zaronias identified and evaluated licensable technology protected by the patent portfolios of both large and small organizations. He collaborated with financial professionals to create financial models estimating the potential value of the licensable field. He also conducted due diligence on large patent portfolios, prepared claim charts and negotiated license agreements.

Prior to entering the legal field, Mr. Zaronias worked as an analytical chemist in the field of environmental testing operating sophisticated analytic instrumentation and in a supervisory role in quality control and assurance. During his final year of law school, Mr. Zaronias clerked for Magistrate Judge Andrew Rodovich in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.
