Mr. Baker’s principal area of practice involves sophisticated estate and tax planning for affluent individuals, families, executives, professionals and owners of closely held businesses. He advises clients regarding acquisitions, sales and business succession planning relating to privately held business and real estate concerns and regularly works with many public and private tax exempt organizations regarding various tax and operational matters. By working closely with his clients he has become a trusted advisor to many families, entrepreneurs and closely held businesses, helping each to overcome their own unique obstacles and also to identify and capitalize on many rewarding opportunities.
Mr. Baker serves as an adjunct professor teaching courses on both Nonprofit and Tax Exempt Organizations and Trusts and Estates at the University of Toledo College of Law. He is a frequent speaker for continuing education programs and has written articles on estate planning and related topics.
Mr. Baker is a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law as certified by the Ohio State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, Michigan, Florida and the United States Tax Court. |

Mr. Baker is a member of the American, Ohio, Michigan, Florida and Toledo Bar Associations. He is also a member of the American Bar Association’s Section on Taxation and Real Property, Probate and Trusts. Mr. Baker was appointed as a Director of the Toledo Estate Planning Council and was appointed to serve on the Ohio State Bar Association's Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Council. He currently serves as Chairman of the Harbor Foundation, is a member of the Toledo Rotary, and is a former board member of the Toledo Opera.

Mr. Baker is a 20 Under 40 Leadership Award recipient. The 20 Under 40 Leadership Program focuses on individuals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their careers and/or in the community. Mr. Baker has been recognized as an Ohio Rising Star by Super Lawyers® magazine.
