Overview

Marshall & Melhorn, LLC, seeks a patent attorney for its Intellectual Property Department.  The technology in the practice relates primarily to mechanical, electro-mechanical devices and materials science.  Candidates will need to demonstrate a clear ability to work in this technology through their undergraduate degree and/or work experience.

This position is open to candidates who are admitted to the Patent Bar and a State Bar (or who have plans to sit for both) and possess an undergraduate degree in engineering with excellent academic qualifications. Preference will be given to candidates with patent prosecution experience.

Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills are needed. The candidate should have strong project and client management skills. No book of business is required. The candidate selected for this position will provide a range of intellectual property legal services including preparing, drafting, and prosecuting patent and trademark applications; counseling on intellectual property matters including patent clearance and infringement opinions; counseling on contract and technology transfer matters; and reviewing and negotiating patent licenses.
