Rebecca Marcus-Nicholls began her legal career at Marshall Melhorn in 2022, as a summer law clerk, and she returned as an associate after graduating law school.

Rebecca is a new associate in the firm’s Business Law Group. She will be working with our business clients on issues involving commercial agreements and transactions, acquisitions, financing, compliance, real estate leases, and more.

She will also be working with the Trusts & Estates Law Group in estate planning, trust administration, wealth preservation, and probate.

Prior to joining Marshall Melhorn, Rebecca worked as judicial law clerk for Justice Brunner at the Supreme Court of Ohio, and as a judicial law clerk for Judge Mayle at the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals. At the Supreme Court, she reviewed jurisdiction request cases and wrote bench memos for oral argument cases, and at the Court of Appeals, she drafted judicial opinions for docket cases. Rebecca’s first legal work experience was with the Bankruptcy team at the Legal Aid Society of Columbus (LSAC).

While attending law school, Rebecca received book awards for her legal writing classes and a Public Service Commendation. Rebecca was an Executive Editor for the University of Toledo Law Review, and her note on the COVID-19 childcare crisis, entitled Childcare: The Privatized Pandemic, was published in 54 U. Toledo L. Rev. 295 (2023). On-campus, Rebecca actively served as the Vice President and Treasurer for the Women’s Law Student Association.

Rebecca was raised in Saline, Michigan. She is a music enthusiast, an avid concert and Broadway show attendee, and she treasures her vinyl record collection. Before attending law school, Rebecca had a career managing her family’s small business in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
