Benjamin Z. Heywood

Ben Heywood is a managing partner of the firm and co-chairs its Business department. He represents a broad range of business enterprises ranging in size and spanning industries, including manufacturing, automotive, distribution, commercial banking and finance, and professional services.

His expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, supply-chain contracting, and both the sale of goods and secured transactions under the Uniform Commercial Code. Ben also counsels clients through commercial disputes in partnership with the firm’s litigation team. He has significant experience in real estate acquisitions, development, leasing, and sales. Finally, Ben represents both lenders and trade creditors in Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganizations and receiverships.

Before entering the legal field, Ben held positions in the business world, as both a management consultant concentrating on business strategy and process, and as a business analyst with a public utility holding company.
